The Return of Bayview Farmers Market!

Bayview farmers market returns to the southeast part of San Francisco after a successful test run last Summer and Fall. The San Francisco Pacific Coast Farmers Market Association did a five-week pilot program last year to see how the community will respond and it was so favorable that they had extended it through October. As a result, Bayview Farmers Market will now be a permanent fixture at All Good Pizza every Saturdays.

All Good Pizza is a well-known spot among the locals in the neighborhood. A pizza place that began turning out brick-oven Neapolitan pies & panini in a parking lot with picnic tables at 1605 Jerrold Ave, All Good Pizza has since grown in the hearts of the people in the area and have even expanded their business with a Mexican restaurant last year though that is an entirely different story. All Good Pizza has agreed to serve as Bayview Farmers Market headquarters and will open its doors an hour early every Saturday for everyone.

A lot of work is put forth behind the scenes of organizing a farmers market for a community. Thus it’s a must to mention that the farmers market will be anchored by Eatwell Farms – a Dixon-based citywide service that delivers a box of fresh produce to many residents’ front doors – and organized by the Merchants of Butchertown and Economic Development on Third (eDot).

Eatwell Farms owner Lorraine Walker told Hoodline News that she plans to recruit a Bayview resident to run the market, said Kristin Houk, owner of All Good Pizza and a member of the Merchants of Butchertown. “She is very community driven and we’re happy to work with her.”

“We’re going to serve things brunch-style,” Houk said, serving items like “pizzas, breakfast paninis, [and] house-baked granola with fruit and yogurt.” While the market is open, All Good Pizza will serve Earl’s Bagels, bloody Marys and mimosas while hosting live music.

Other vendors participating include Bayview Pasta, Bayview Coffee Beans, locally pressed olives from Gratta Wines, and baked goods from Yvonne’s Southern Sweets.
