He ended up as some of the richest and famous people in the world, with a net worth of $70 million, per music industry/guitar community news site, Ultimate Guitar. Over the years he has also accumulated a few million-dollar real estate investments in San Francisco – two of which he sold recently.
Per realtor.com, on March 2018 last year, Hammett sold one of his luxury homes at 308 Sea Cliff Ave in the exclusive Sea Cliff neighborhood in San Francisco for $12.8 million (making a hefty profit since he purchased the property for $5.7 million back in 2005). See photos below.

The price for this property was reduced down to $14 million in early 2017, and then taken off the market and re-emerged as a new listing in 2018 for $13 million. Early this year, 2019, the price was reduced once again to $11.9 million.
The estate is hidden behind the privacy wall at 320 Sea Cliff Avenue, and which Hammett purchased for $8 million in early 2010. This month, he accepted an offer and sold it for $11.7 million.
