Massive Mid-Market Whole Foods Complex Plans Leaked

The 46,000-square-foot Whole Foods Market is planned to open on 2021. The market will be below ground, accessed by people via a grand entry on Market Street. On the surface, Whole Foods will be located on the base of the massive Trinity Place development on Market & 8th. It is to be San Francisco’s massive Whole Foods.

Above the market is going to be a 9,000-square-foot space that will be Whole Foods restaurant accommodating 275 people.

Although it’s not on the planning documents, it also appears that they’re planning to incorporate an Amazon Go, or at least Amazon’s “grab and go” technology, as well. See the gates highlighted below.

Amazon Go is a new kind of store with no checkout required, meaning no lines. It is Amazon’s checkout-free shopping made possible by the same types of technologies used in self-driving cars: computer vision, sensor fusion, and artificial intelligence. The technology automatically detects when products are taken from or returned to the shelves, and keeps track of them in a virtual cart. When a person is done shopping, they can just leave the store. They will be sent a receipt and their Amazon account is charged.

And if approved, Whole Foods proposes that the market will be open from 6 am to 12 midnight, seven days a week.
