SF Mayor Candidate Promises Transparency on Hunters Point Issue
Senator Mark Leno, known to be the pioneer to become the first openly gay man to serve in the California State, and currently a San Francisco mayor candidate, has promised the people of San Francisco to be transparent regarding fraud and contamination reports at Hunters Point.
“The safety and respect for the health and well-being of the Hunters Point community has not been a top priority. Concerns from those living in District 10 should have always been part of the decision-making process,” Leno says.
“As mayor, Hunters Point Shipyard will be a safe site to build a new neighborhood,” he added. Leno’s campaign website mentions the area as one of the sites he would like to see “an accelerated creation of 3,300 homes.” We will be keeping an eye on what’s to come about on this issue.
